LECTURE
Week 1: Introduction & Exercise 1 Briefing
Week 2: Presentation of Flip 1 & 2
INSTRUCTION
In this exercise, we were tasked to arrange the choosen objects into a presentable charts on a piece of A4 paper with relevent indicators written out with pens, then take a picture and submit it in the google drive.

EXERCISE 1: Quantity data
IDEATION
IDEA #1
As I took the lucky paper stars as the object to be arranged, it can be seperated in size and variety such as colour and quantity. Hence, I've decided to break them down into two parts according to the size with something cute and not mundane. Eventually I came up with this idea when I tried to think along this way.
IDEA #2
Same goes to this one, I was thinking to create something cute and interesting. Looking at the paper stars, I somehow associated it with the UFO and space thing, thus I came up with the UFO and the table chart in a more sci-fi way.
IDEA #3
As both IDEA #1 and IDEA #2 came almost the same pattern (two vertical container to contain two seperated group of stars), so I had this idea to make different design, such as designing in something horizontal. Looking at the eyes of both cat and dog in IDEA #1, the idea of drawing sleeping bubble came to me.

PROGRESS
Initially, I was doing it on paper but then I realized it was time consuming when it comes to the perfect result of drawing, therefore I've decided to design the things digitally in Illustrator instead and input the picture of the lucky paper stars later on.
First off, I digitalized the sketches in Adobe Illustrator.

After that, I finalized the works in Adobe Photoshop.

The process is almost the same for the three works, in which cut out the paper stars from the orginal image, then place it into the design with free transform.

Then, I erased the overlapped area by using Eraser.

Lastly, I applied blending mode and also modified the brightness and contrast of it.

FEEDBACK
Ms. Anis said all the designs are good and asked me to choose either one for the final work.
REFLECTION
A perfect warm up exercise for me to familiar myself with data and information, and allow myself to think in a creative way to break them down.
